Mitali Khanna Sharma is a multi-disciplinary artist, writer, and organizer whose work traces entanglements of food, biodiversity, power, spirit, and care. She is pursuing her Master's in Environment & Sustainability at the University of Michigan, where she also serves as advisor to an undergraduate literary/arts magazine. With roots in Punjab and St. Louis, Mita received her B.A. in English Literature with Honors from Columbia University in New York City in 2021. Her thesis on race, religion, and the history of science in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales was awarded the John Vincent Hickey Prize for critical writing on poetry. Mita's own poetry has been published in Wordgathering, Cobra Milk, MAYDAY Magazine, & elsewhere. A chapbook, “Reliquary Bestiary,” is out now with Black Sunflowers Poetry Press. She was a founding editor of Serabi, a zine-anthology on the liminal and transgressive in South/West Asia, and also served as Editor-in-Chief & Head of Design of Quarto Magazine. As a designer, she has collaborated with organizations such as A Growing Culture, La Vía Campesina, & The National Lawyers Guild, as well as individual clients.
